04 · Meet the teachers · spring 2026

The people your kid will be learning from.

Caffery’s is led by Lindsay Almquist, who owns and runs the studio. Her faculty is a mix of working choreographers, certified coaches, and lifelong dancers — the people in the room when your kid is in class.

Lindsay Almquist.

Lindsay owns and runs Caffery’s. She’s the person who makes the schedule, hires the teachers, picks the costumes, signs your contract, and waves at you in the parking lot. She still teaches, still choreographs, and still gets nervous every June when the curtain goes up at the recital.

The studio under her direction has grown into a true two-track program — recreational classes for any kid who wants to move, and a competitive company for the kids who want more — without losing the family-owned feel that started it all.

  • Owner & Studio Director, Caffery’s Dance & Gymnastics
  • 25+ years teaching across Middlesex County
  • Lead choreographer for the annual spring recital
  • Active member, Adirondack Dance Council of Connecticut (ADCC)
“Every kid who walks in here gets the same thing: real teaching, a warm room, and the expectation that they’ll show up for themselves.”

Caffery’s instructors specialize across dance, gymnastics, and tumbling. They teach age-appropriate progressions, write recital choreography, and answer parent emails within a day.

If you’d like to know who teaches a specific class, email the studio — we’ll happily introduce you to the teacher and arrange a chat before you sign up.

Bios in progress. We’re actively expanding the faculty page with photos, certifications, and bios for every Caffery’s teacher. To request a specific teacher introduction in the meantime, email info@cafferys.net.

The competitive team is led by Lindsay alongside the senior faculty. Each company level has a primary coach plus rotating guest choreographers — the dancers get more than one voice over the season.

MINI COMPANY

Ages 7–9

First taste of competition life — one piece per season, one regional event. Coaches focus on confidence and stage presence as much as technique.

JUNIOR COMPANY

Ages 10–13

The biggest company on the roster. Multiple group pieces, optional solos, four regional weekends a year. Most dancers stay through senior year.

SENIOR COMPANY

Ages 14–17

Pre-pro level work — advanced choreography, audition prep, and a culminating Company Showcase that closes every spring recital.
