Questions families actually ask.

Ten of the most common questions we get from new and returning families. Don’t see your question? Email info@cafferys.net — we reply within a day.

01

What age can my child start?

Our youngest classes start at age 3. Creative Movement and Tiny Tumblers are designed for the 3–5 age range — short classes, low pressure, the whole point is to let your dancer try it. See the preschool program →

02

Do you offer trial classes?

Yes — the first class is free for new dancers. We’ll match your child to the right level based on age and any prior experience, then hold the spot for 24 hours while you decide. Reserve through the parent portal or just call the studio.

03

What should they wear?

It depends on the program — ballet has a specific dress code, hip-hop is much more relaxed, gym needs grip. The full breakdown by program is on the dress-code page. Loaner shoes are available if you don’t have them yet. See dress code →

04

What if we miss a class?

Up to 3 make-up classes per dancer per season, by email request. Book a make-up in any same-level class through the parent portal or by replying to a teacher email. Snow-day closures don’t count against the 3.

05

Are performances required?

No. The June recital is the season finale and most dancers participate, but it’s not mandatory. Tell us by January if your dancer would prefer to skip and we’ll skip the costume fee for that piece.

06

How does tuition work?

Annual tuition is split into 10 equal monthly payments, due on the 15th of the month. The first month is due at registration. June and July have no charge. Auto-pay is encouraged. Full tuition page →

07

How do I register?

Registration is online through the parent portal (Jackrabbit). Pick your classes, pay the first month plus the registration fee, set up auto-pay, and you’re on the roster. Class confirmation comes within 24 hours. Register now →

08

Where are you located?

140-5 Main Street, Metro Square, Middletown, CT 06457. We’re in the Metro Square complex on Main Street — second door on the right inside the lobby. Map & directions →

09

Where do I park?

There’s a free lot directly behind Metro Square — enter from Court Street. Street parking on Main is metered until 6pm on weekdays and free after. Plenty of room during evening class hours.

10

Can parents watch?

Open Studio events twice a month — all classes open to families — plus regular video updates in the parent portal. The rest of the time we find dancers focus better without a gallery, so the lobby is the place to be.
